vision night

Last night, we had our annual Vision Night, and it was amazing! It was in the ball room at the Crowne Plaza and the whole atmosphere was great. Not only was the atmosphere great, but the whole programming side of it was amazing. Here’s how it went:

We started with a couple of worship songs – rockin’. Matt, Sarah, and I then took a few minutes and told the story of NLC, which was a lot of fun and we were able to joke around a lot and everyone was laughing pretty hard. Then Matt talked about Alexander the Great, and how at one point, one of his generals looked at him and said, Sir, I believe that we have gone beyond the map. Alexander then looked back and said that mediocre armies stay on the map, but great ones will venture beyond the map. He said that NLC was dedicated to traveling off the map.

He also talked about taking risks. On Emerging Leaders, Artists, and God. He talked about the new 5600 feet of warehouse space that we’re going to be leasing for our offices and a large room to hold around 100-150 people – for youth group, leadership meetings, etc.

He challenged everyone financially. He challenged everyone to step and lead. He talked about the church growth and the pattern. He talked about our core processes. What made these rock was that Sarah, Matt’s wife, made diagrams on powerpoint that made what he said even more amazing. She’s amazing and doing things to enhance the quality of just about everything. If she had a job title, it would be, Chief Enhancer. Seriously. Don’t try to hire her though…We’d fight you for her…

Matt also talked about the multi-campus vision. He talked about continuing to take risks as a church.

He talked about so many amazing things, and for me, the one thing that I feel like was great was this phrase: GOD SPEAKS, WE STEP. GOD SPEAKS, WE STEP. That was driven home in a great way. It was really amazing.

People left last night more pumped up about NLC than ever. I had a guy text message me and tell me that last night was different for him because he felt like he had lost something for a long time, and last night at Vision Night, he found it.

Vision, vision, vision…how powerful is that? It is amazing how much God uses it to challenge people and change lives and get people fired up for more!

More than ever, people are dedicated to being a part of something so much greater. What a great night.
