sunday – 3-18-07

Yesterday was an amazing Sunday. Two weeks ago, we started doing a Worker Central for the workers in the Kids Zone with food, drinks, etc., and we have a pre-service meeting at 9:15. All of the kids workers and set-up people for the day gather into the room and we talk through what’s going on for the day, remind them that they’re a part of changing lifes and transforming hearts, we pray, and then we have about 15 minutes before the doors to the Kids Zone opens. Yesterday, after we got done praying, it was cool to see a lot of the workers talking and laughing together before heading into their environment to set it up. It was great to see their comraderie.

Matt and Sarah talked about sex in marriage again yesterday and it was really great. They have some amazing things to say about marriage and sex in marriage. Knowing them personally lets me know that they walk the talk, which is amazing. Listen to the message at www.nextlevelchurch.com. It’s pretty great.

Last night, we did our 2nd ever KidStuf. It’s a program that goes along with our curriculum that’s designed to provide an environment where kids take their parents to church. The curriculum that we use with our kids is completely designed to create a strategy that the parents can also leverage at home and KidStuf is another way to help them to do that. It was a rockin’ performance. This time around, I left everything completely in Vanessa Tyler’s hands, and her leadership made it happen in a great way! I know that so many lives were impacted!

Josh Quigley, our programming director is a champ. He’s only been working with us for less than two months, but he’s elevated the environment in the auditorium to a new level. He’s doing great.

We ran out of nametags on Sunday and we’re not getting new ones. The church is really growing, and to continue with nametags, it would be pretty difficult because our foyer isn’t big enough. It will be a great new phase.
